A message to the Women of today: Bailey Susic Articles: Bailey is a PhD student in Public Policy, specifically Aging Policy. She has lived in Baltimore for the majority of her life and has grown to truly appreciate the city of Baltimore. During her high school years, she was able to flourish as a person while having a little fun in between. She graduated in three and half years with a double major of Sociology and Deaf Studies from Towson University. She fell in love with American Sign Language but had a great interest in learning how society functions. She continued on to pursue both disciplines. Immediately after she graduated she started at UMBC in a combined program for her Masters and PhD. She has a great love for reading, knowledge, learning, people, and politics. She is 100% a bleeding heart but also understands the advantage to being jaded. She hopes to bring a fresh however witty perspective to MaryElise. She sees great honor in sharing thoughts and knowledge with one another regardless of the perspective. She hopes to bring something a little different but also a little familiar.
Kim is an educator at Laura Macarthur School, but after receiving her degree, she is applying for jobs where she can work with women on a regular basis. She is passionate about women’s issues (body image, self esteem, and spirituality) -- and these are the topics she enjoys writing about in her personal essays and poetry. Kim's degree is in Psychology and English; She believes they intertwine as one cannot be a writer without understanding the human psyche. She is fascinated with the Freud mania. She looks forward to starting a dialogue about issues women face in today’s society; body image, self confidence, dating, marriage, raising children (teens), and most importantly, articles about pro-age rather than anti-age! She has written for women’s studies and women’s anthologies. She is honored to be a part of the MaryElise Magazine. |
