What is the Modern Woman?

Our slogan is "Re-Inventing, Re-Defining, Re-Discovering The Modern Woman" but what do we mean by this? We are centered around this idea of "The Modern Woman", read below to find out why.

We believe it is long overdue that a publication honor the female gender through empowering content, discussions, advice, and sisterhood. Sadly, the female gender has been unfairly shoved into a corner of stereotypes, expectations, and boundaries. The media that seems to run many women's lives is combative in building a truly strong and empowered self. The message preached sounds like this: "You are not thin enough, sexy enough, smart enough, capable enough, or worthy enough to be honored in a respectful manner." We are here to change that.

The Modern Woman is strong, independent, confident, capable, limitless, and refuses to settle.

I was inspired to create a new online presence for women to find valuable information, community, and growth materials to help improve their lives. The majority of women's magazines (whether online or print), focus on the woman that our "culture" has created. They provide a false sense of "empowerment" by marketing themselves as a magazine "for women". Often they are quite confusing in their relay of information, as it seems that they are training women to be play toys and doormats for the men in their lives. Whittling down the female self to a sexual femme fetale and diet-obsessed waif. It's as though much of the female race has lost touch with themselves, after being influenced by what the media says a "woman" of today is.

Our Message: You are worthy of what you allow yourself to be. No person, whether man or woman, can simplify and stereotype you into a degrading box of casualty. Stand strong, stand tall, be a Modern Woman. Respect yourself, respect your gender, and most of all, respect what it means to be a woman. Let's work together to re-define what it means to be a powerful woman of today.
