Men & Women Confess... ![]() For their July 2006 Issue, Men's Health Magazine conducted a poll of 2000 men regarding their mates most obnoxious habits. Women's Health Magazine followed in their footsteps and below are the interesting results. Enjoy! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Men and women are wired differently, and because of that, it's important to be understanding of the different problem solving approaches they each use. As seen in the above lists, both men and women agree that never admitting their partner is wrong, is one of the most obnoxious behaviors. What this comes down to is your pride. Don't be prideful and selfish when you are having an argument. While this is a natural defense mechanism, it doesn't solve any problem or help in your communication with one another. Remember, remain calm, hear each other out, don't raise your voice, and try to understand the situation from their perspective. When it comes to ending the relationship because of the above behaviors, 70% of men have dumped a woman because of her annoying behavior, while 66% of women have done the same thing. 48% of women believe that men intentionally participate in the "top five" behaviors to push their buttons. However, this type of outlook for your relationship is unhealthy and negative. If you only harp on the negative in a relationship, it will surely reflect in the intimacy that you and your partner are able to achieve. If you want to build a solid foundation, support each other, help each other grow, and compliment each other. Treat him with respect, and always make sure he is treating you with nothing less than dignity and respect. Remember, a relationship is a two-way street, if one person is constantly pushing or pulling, it's out of balance, which equals unhealthy. Strong and clear communication is a key factor to grow together in a healthy way. Rather than rant and rave about your day, give him a little taste of what happened, and leave room for open-ended responses. Get him involved in the conversation so that he wants to ask you about your day, rather than it being a one-way rant on your part. |
