While this inspiring chart topper has been gaining popularity since 2004, K.T. Tunstall remains a fresh talent with a sound that has awakened many bored and tired ears. This 31-year-old is one that has not only defied critics (due to her late inception to the music industry), but brought forth a new standard of talent and stability to the music world.
Hailing from Scotland, Kate merges Folk, Pop, and Acoustic to create her own powerful and unique sound. So much unlike over-produced records of today, Tunstall's sound is refreshing, beautiful, and deep. Her songs are brilliant poetry set to imagery-rich musical notes. Tunstall, who writes or co-writes every song and plays guitar, piano, Wurlitzer and percussion, represents what today's popular music industry is missing...depth.
Known by K.T. to the public, her initials stand as an abbreviation to her full name, Kate Tunstall. Her explosively popular cd, Eye to the Telescope, became a radio favorite throughout the UK, US, Canada, and Australia, all within the late months of 2004. Her voice is melodic and commanding, and her songs will become quick favorites, with her album on repeat, you'll be sure to become an addict.
