Fitness Index ![]() MOTIVATE YOURSELF – While Being Realistic To truly become a person that enjoys exercise and is capable of achieving the body they want, you must motivate yourself past just simply fitting into your polka dot bikini this summer. To truly be successful with your weight loss, you must change your mind set, you must do it to be healthy and you must change your lifestyle as well. Don’t kill yourself by jumping in and out of various diets and having goals merely to look good for an event or outfit. You will be down on yourself each time you fail, and it will only make it that much harder to start yet another exercise routine. Avoid looking at celebrities for a fitness goal, the majority of the time ‘their’ bodies aren’t really ‘theirs.’ After airbrushing, lighting, and posing, anyone can look “perfect.” Don’t have unrealistic motivations because that will only result in disappointment. Realize that every body is beautiful, don’t allow yourself to constantly desire someone else’s physique; each body has a different structure, and EACH BODY IS BEAUTIFUL. Rather than obsessing over what your body looks like for vanity-sake, think about what it does for you. Once you realize that, you’ll begin to be able to appreciate your body and what it does for you every day. If you begin incorporating cardio whether it be walking, jogging, or playing a sport, try to get at least 20 minutes of cardio 3 times a week, gradually work that up to 5 times a week and from there alter your workout to your physical fitness ability. There’s no need to jump from diet to diet; eat sensibly, getting a well-rounded combination of healthy foods, including fruits, vegetables, and proteins and you will lose weight while still enjoying food, as it should be! |
