This summer your ankles are getting some major love. The looks of the season highlight dainty details with ribbons and bows tied up and around the ankles.
With this trend, beware, search for tie-ups that compliment your leg structure. If you are larger in the leg or shorter in height, don't go for a look like #4 (seen below), as that will add weight and shorten your leg. Instead, go for a lighter color and softer appearance for the shoe.
Your favorite designers from Marc Jacobs to Steve Madden, have transferred this trend into their own language. From vampy to classic, tomboy to tailored, the choices are endless. However, a sweet tie-up goes beautifully with a knee-length A-line skirt and fitted top. Grab a couple fitted cotton tees, and tuck them into your fluffy A-line for an instant "stroll through the park" look.
To accentuate your waist and give you more of an hourglass appearance, make sure the skirt is fitted and sits at your waist, not hips. It will elongate your legs and streamline your figure, just make sure you choose the right shoe to complete the outfit, rather than compete with it.
