Skin Care Archive *Always remove your makeup, cleanse, tone, moisturize, and protect your skin from the sun. The five most important steps to your most radiant skin are listed below. Adjust the following routine for your skin type, selecting appropriate products. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Step 1 – Make-up Removal Remove eye make-up with gentle moisturizing makeup remover pads; be careful about rubbing your eyes because lashes fall out very easily. NEVER fall asleep with your mascara on, you tend to roll around in your sleep and you can rub your face on your pillow, pulling out crusty lashes. If you don’t have make-up remover pads, opt for soap and water, but still be very careful with how vigorous you rub. Never fall asleep with your make-up on; you'll regret it the following morning. Your skin will be dull and lifeless. Nurture your skin, it needs love. Step 2 - Cleansing Next, splash face with warm water to open your pores. With a slightly grainy but not abrasive scrub/wash, gently apply the product in upward circular motions around your face. Never rub or scratch your face, it will irritate the skin and possibly lead to breakouts. While any type of soap can remove dirt, you’ll need a cleanser to work deep and remove the impurities. Next, rinse your face with warm water several times until the entire cleansing product is gone. Any cleanser that is left is dirt, oil, and impurities. Splash your face until it is free of the cleanser. Splash one or two handfuls of cold water to close the pores and you are read to tone! Step 3 - Toning Using cotton balls or pads lightly soak with toner, appropriate for your skin type. Continue until all of the dirt and makeup is gone. Toner is wonderful because it closes the pores, gives skin a porcelain-like smoothness, and stimulates circulation. Be gentle during this step and use upward strokes while applying the toner. Step 4 – Moisturizing Use a light, but still moisturizing acne fighter. Proactive makes a fantastic acne lotion called ‘repairing lotion,’ it is sure to deliver A+ results! Even if you have pimples, continue to moisturize, just use the correct products and you will repair the blemishes while treating your skin. Next, use a lightweight moisturizer including an SPF of at least 10. Use this product all over your face as well as your neck. Lastly, use a moisturizing and effective eye cream appropriate for either day or night. Pat eye area lightly, all the way around, making a circle patting motion around each eye. Eye skin is EXTREMELY delicate so never rub or scratch, always pat. Another great tip while using anti-wrinkle cream is to use on any other wrinkles, including any expression lines you may have. Start using anti-wrinkle cream NOW to prevent wrinkles and do what the product is intended to do. Step 5 – Protection SPF SPF SPF!!! – PROTECT YOUR SKIN! The most important step you can take to protect your skin is to apply a sunscreen everyday. Use at least an SPF 10 to your face and exposed areas of your body whenever you are going to be out in the sun. Many moisturizers contain SPF 10-15 sunscreen, or you may wish to apply a separate product that is specifically a sunscreen with a higher SPF level. Whichever option you choose, make sure you buy a sunscreen suitable for your skin type. Not to be forgotten...no matter the season, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, all require sunscreen use. On cloudy days, the sun still shines through; shade can be misleading, so be alert of hidden sun exposure. Treat your neck like you would your face, the skin there is just as delicate and is extremely vulnerable to sun damage! |
